Junior Achievement of Upper Midwest (JAUM) is offering online resources to parents and teachers in response to school closures caused by COVID-19, while a local clinic is offering telehealth services.

According to St. Peter Herald, JAUM is offering their resources free of charge to those who are expected to educate children from home.

The program is suitable for grades K-12 and teaches a wide range of skills including money management, career preparation, innovative thinking and entrepreneurial planning in a hands-on and age-specific format.

President and CEO of JAUM, Gina Blayney, said that this program offers a wealth of information.

“Now is a perfect time for Junior Achievement to connect with our young people, via technology, allowing them to keep learning and planning for their future,” Blayney said. “Junior Achievement is opening up our digital learning platform in innovative ways to give teachers and parents tools to teach in a virtual environment.”

Those interested in JAUM’s program can access the resources by visiting jaum.org/resources and filling out a brief registration form.

According to St. Peter Herald, Mankato Clinic is offering telehealth services in order to keep individuals at home and help to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The telehealth services will help individuals decide if an in-person visit to the clinic is necessary.

Andrew Lundquist, chief medical officer at Mankato Clinic, said that telehealth is an ideal way to serve the community at this time.

“At Mankato Clinic, we are committed to caring for our patients and community now and always. Telehealth is an excellent way to deliver health care in this unprecedented situation. We are here to care for the communities we serve and we will continue to deliver necessary care to patients in the safest and best manner we can with the tools available,” Lundquist said.
