Avera Marshall is condensing its locations to better serve COVID-19 patients, according to Marshall Independent.
Instead of receiving treatment at Carlson Street, patients have been instructed to go to Avera Marshall Medical Center, which is located on Bruce Street.
That campus will be separated as the workers from Carlson Street will work on the bottom floor of Bruce Street, and the Behavioral Health Services will be on the first floor.
Those being treated for respiratory issues will have access to a different entrance and a section of the clinic.
Mary Maertens, Regional President and CEO of Avera Marshall, explained the change in the statement and said, “Consolidating clinics to one location, for now, will help us further prepare for a possible surge of patients needing hospital care in the future. It will also help us preserve the health of our workforce and conserve resources for critical needs.”
She added that the facilities are “taking extreme precaution,” when helping patients who possibly have the coronavirus.
