City of Blue Earth issued the following announcement on April 24.
The Blue Earth Area School annually has students participate in a day of community service learning/ volunteerism the first week of May. This involves students working in groups, doing projects around the various communities including picking up debris from parks and road rights-of—way. This is a huge benefit to the City as it clears areas being mowed and helps improve the aesthetic value of our common areas. This year, due to the cancellation of school, we will be missing the help we receive from this project.
The City is requesting any individuals or families (no groups) having and interest in spending quality time outside and doing something VERY productive, stop at City Hall for a map of areas that would benefit from debris collection. We have trash bags, vests, gloves and maps available. The maps have the City broken into 6 sections and will help direct volunteers to areas most needing attention.
If you have questions, please call City Hall at (507) 526-7336
