The former Winnebago School building was purchased by Veteran Enterprises Ltd. during a Winnebago City Council meeting on April 14, the Faribault County Register reported.

Veteran Enterprises made two separate proposals to the city—one was a one-time payment of $61,000, while the second proposal was for $180,000, but broken up over five years, according to the news agency.

"We would like to set up MN Rec Therapy, LLC, which is a service-disabled-Veteran-owned small business. It is currently providing case management services to the fifth Judicial Veterans court," Garth Carlson, Veteran Enterprises CEO, told the news agency. "I have discussed this with them and they would move in right away."

Carlson also said there was still more space for other business opportunities, the news agency reported. Some residents hoped that Veteran Enterprises would also work together with the Center for Educational Development (CED) on the extra space, which Carlson told the news agency they were open to.
