City Of St. Peter issued the following announcement on Oct 24.
More snow is coming! Do you have off-street parking yet? One of the challenges of living in Minnesota is getting residents to move vehicles off streets when City plows are out after a snow fall. Before Mother Nature gets too carried away with winter, please make arrangements now for a spot to park your vehicle off the street when snow falls.
Why? You won’t be plowed in when the snowplow goes by. Your neighbors won’t be angry with you when the plows can’t get to the curb in front of their house as the driver has to make a wide swath away from the curb to get around your parked vehicle. Moving vehicles allows the plow drivers to do a better and more efficient job of clearing snow curb to curb which saves us all money. And maybe most importantly, voluntary compliance all but eliminates the need to declare a snow emergency which could result in costly fines and/or having vehicles towed.
So please, make arrangements for off-street parking now, before winter really gets here! Thank you.
