Minnesota officials have announced that the Highway 63 northbound bridge over Interstate 90 and the interstate ramps all reopened on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
This news comes as construction crews wrap up the first year of a two-year project. The project is located just north of Stewartville, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MDOT) reported on its website.
MDOT officials said that the northbound lanes have officially reopened to traffic and will stay open all winter long.
"During the two-year construction project both Highway 63 bridges will be replaced, Highway 30 west rerouted, some I-90 exit ramps will be added or realigned and the access to 90th Street SE is closed and rerouted," the MDOT website stated.
MDOT said work crews will resume construction in spring 2021. The overall project is scheduled to be completed in August of 2021. Minnesota taxpayers are paying Mathiowetz Construction Co., of Sleepy Eye $15.4 million to complete the project.
Motorists who will be using this route can get more information and sign up for email updates by visiting the MDOT website or Facebook.
