Minnesota State University-Mankato graduate teaching assistant Jeremy Pasquale donates $324 to Bernard Sanders' campaign

Jeremy Pasquale, a graduate teaching assistant at Minnesota State University-Mankato, donated $324 to Democratic Party candidate Bernard Sanders, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $2,965 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Minnesota State University-Mankato as of November 3. Approximately 74.2 percent, or $2,200, of these contributions were made to Republican Party candidates and committees.

Michael D. Benedict's contribution of $2,000 to Republican Party Peter Allen Stauber was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Minnesota State University-Mankato since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
