Republican candidate Susan Akland won the House District 19A election against incumbent Jeff Brand.
Akland announced her victory through a short Facebook.post.
“IT IS A WIN BY 115 VOTES! What an adventure this past year has been! We are celebrating!” she wrote.
Her campaign manager, Sandie Trish, later posted a statement on the same page thanking supporters.
“So many of you have helped with Susan’s campaign, whether you put a sign in your yard, prepared some door hanging literature, did some sign waving, or doorknocking. We have so many to thank, and I know Susie will want to express her appreciation here on this page soon. She actually was called to be in Saint Paul immediately after the election, Wednesday, Thursday and today. But be assured, we appreciate every single one of you who did anything to support her campaign & election. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
