This railroad quiet zone study is a 2020 Mankato Community Investment Plan project. Quiet zone improvements have long been an effort the city has focused on. To qualify for

Federal Railroad Administration designation as a quite zone, the city must assess what safety improvements, such as gates, flashing lights with power out indicators and Constant

Warning Time (CWT) detectors need to be in place.
