City Of Arlington issued the following announcement on Aug. 25.
The City is still in the process of working on the Emerald Ash Borer DNR grant. The purpose of the grant is to help the city mitigate emerald ash borer, a devastating pest infestation which currently looms on the east side of the county. Grant deliverables are expected to be finished by June 2023.
Deliverables include removal of ash trees, stump grinding, and replacement trees. A total of 11 very large to large declining as trees have been removed thus far in city boulevards.
It is likely we will be able to remove another 15-20 of our large ash trees. Thank you to the public for your understanding and patience as we tackle this project. We understand it is not always desirable to see a tree go, but a reminder that the stumps will be ground out this fall and a replacement tree planted.
