City Of Albert Lea issued the following announcement on Sep. 11.
On this day, as we remember the victims and honor the heroes of September 11, 2001, we are proud to share a project in the works led by the American Legion Riders Chapter 56 in Albert Lea.
The Riders have begun raising funds to add a Freedom Rock to the Veteran's Memorial at the Freeborn County Courthouse. The Freedom Rock (established in 1999) will be a large boulder that is painted with a Thank You for our nations Veterans to honor their service to our country.
Not only will this Freedom Rock show our love and support of Veterans, it will also provide an instant tourist attraction, as it is added to the Freedom Rock Tour. - More information about Freedom Rock can be found here: https://www.thefreedomrock.com/
