Exciting Updates to the Blue Earth County Library

Visitors to the Blue Earth County Library (Mankato location) between now and early December will see some exciting updates happening to the adult space.

The library, built in 1976, is still home to the original shelves and while they are sturdy, their size poses safety and accessibility concerns. In addition to new shelving, the project, which is already underway, will include new carpeting and ceiling tiles in that space.

The library will remain open throughout the project and materials are still available.  While there might be a little more noise than on a typical day, we envision the disruption to services to be minimal.

All library materials including books and DVDs will continue to be available to checkout with staff available to assist if visitors are unable to find something specific. Computers and the free wi-fi that, so many community members depend on, will continue to be available throughout the project as well.
