MCA and MTAS: How many Alden-Conger Public School District students took their Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Alden-Conger Public School District ranked second in the Freeborn County for test participation, with 248 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Alden-Conger Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 13.2% over the previous year.

Alden-Conger Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 43% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 16% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, sixth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 47% not meeting the expected standards.

Alden-Conger Public School District encompasses schools within Freeborn County and has a main office in Alden.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
