Mankato Public School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Mankato Public School District ranked first in the Blue Earth County for test participation, with 4,186 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Mankato Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 19.5% over the previous year.

Mankato Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 48% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 39% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, sixth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 40% not meeting the expected standards.

Mankato Public School District encompasses schools within Blue Earth County and has a main office in Mankato.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
