MCA and MTAS: How many St. Clair Public School District students took their Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

St. Clair Public School District ranked third in the Blue Earth County for test participation, with 396 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of St. Clair Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 7.3% over the previous year.

St. Clair Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 50% in 2021-22 school year.

Third grade students stood out with 46% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 64% not meeting the expected standards.

St. Clair Public School District encompasses schools within Blue Earth County and has a main office in Saint Clair.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
