Springfield Public School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Springfield Public School District ranked second in the Brown County for test participation, with 298 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Springfield Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 1.7% from the previous year.

Springfield Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 72% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 55% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, eighth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 25% not meeting the expected standards.

Springfield Public School District encompasses schools within Brown County and has a main office in Springfield.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
