John Frankman, former Green Beret, said Minnesota Governor Tim Walz should not become Vice President because of his lack of respect for citizens' freedoms. He made the comments on August 14 on X about the story of Lisa Hanson.

"Hey America! Tim Walz put a grandma & businesswoman in jail for 90 days for keeping her business open during COVID," Frankman said in a post on X. "Do we really want him as #2 in the country so he can take away all our freedoms?"

According to Fox News, Lisa Hanson is a mother of 8 children and 16 grandchildren. Her and her husband were the owners of the Interchange Wine & Coffee Bistro in Albert Lea before serving 90 days in prison for violating shutdown orders during Covid after previously complying. "He shut down a lot of the mom-and-pop shops, those folks that were just trying to make a living and provide a great product and a great service," she said. "In contrast, he allowed big-box stores, etc., to stay open. Really incredible, an incredible use of tyranny against the people."

Hanson disputes the validity of the image of Governor Walz being presented in the media. "This is the story that America needs to hear, that Tim Walz is not some cuddly, joyful coach, like all the things that the MSMs are calling him," Hason said. "That is not who this man is. This man would like to take your rights away. He will take your rights away. Because what happened to me could have happened to anybody. What happened to me will happen to you."

Her violations led to her receiving the maximum sentence, which included a $1000 fine. Hanson said she missed out on Christmas, anniveraries, and the birth of one of her grandchildren during her jail sentence. "Hanson said to Fox News Digital "I can never have that time back. That time was stolen from me. My business was destroyed. My business is gone. After everything that happened, Tim Walz and Keith Ellison destroyed my business. They wrecked my life."

In court, Hansen represented herself and attempted to challenge the constitutionality of Gov. Walz's orders, but was prevented from doing so by the judge, according to the Star Tribune. "Her lawless assertion of personal freedom put at risk the safety of her community," Olmsted County District Judge Joseph Chase said. "I find her deliberate, self-publicized repeated violations of the governor's orders under these circumstances to be in bad faith."

John Frankman was a captain in the United States Army as a Green Beret before leaving of his own volition after refusing to get the mandated Covid vaccine, according to his website.
