Sibley County Education: 1,896 students were enrolled in 2024-25 school year

There were 1,896 students enrolled in Sibley County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 2.7% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Minnesota Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Sibley County comprised 51.6% boys, with girls representing the remaining 48.4%.

Data also showed that white students made up 69.2% of the student body, the largest percentage in Sibley County schools, followed by Hispanic students with 24.8%, 3% multiracial students, 1.2% Black students, 1.1% American Indian students and 0.7% Asian students.

Sibley East-Gaylord Elementary had the highest enrollment among Sibley County's nine schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 503 students.

With more than 870,000 students enrolled, Minnesota's public school system is the 10th-largest in the United States. As of 2025 the student-to-teacher ratio in the state’s public schools is 15 to 1, on par with the national average.
