Minnesota State Representative Erica Schwartz provided an update on recent legislative activities as the Republican majority enters its second week in session. Schwartz highlighted that committees are actively considering legislation, including bills that were delayed due to a Supreme Court ruling affecting quorum requirements.

Schwartz contrasted Republican efforts with those of Democrats, stating, "While Democrats seem content to avoid addressing their record of enabling fraud and raising taxes, Republicans are leading the charge on the priorities that matter most to Minnesotans. We’re focused on stopping fraud, making Minnesota more affordable, and ensuring our communities remain safe."

She encouraged continued collaboration among lawmakers and constituents: "Let’s keep the momentum going and work together to build a brighter future for Minnesota!"

Schwartz announced the launch of her official Facebook page for legislative updates and community engagement.

Over the weekend, Schwartz met with Rep. Luke Fredericks and Sen. Nick Frentz for breakfast with local teachers. She said about the meeting: "Hearing directly from those who dedicate so much to our students and communities is invaluable. House Republicans are committed to doing everything we can to support our educators and ensure they have the resources they need to succeed. You show up for our kids every day—now it’s our turn to show up for you!"

This week also included a discussion with Ryan Vesey, Business Development Director at Greater Mankato Growth. The conversation covered issues such as workforce development and regulatory burdens facing local businesses.

Schwartz noted: "A big thank you to Ryan for taking the time to share his insights—together, we’re working to make Minnesota a place where businesses can thrive!"

She also spoke about an encounter with Charles from Mankato State University's Students United group at the Capitol. Students United represents over 65,000 students across seven state universities in Minnesota and advocates for policies supporting affordability and accessibility in higher education (https://www.studentsunited.org/).

"It was awesome to hear about all the work they’re doing, and I’m excited to keep collaborating with them to ensure Minnesota students have the support they need!" Schwartz said.

Additionally, Schwartz joined Congressman Brad Finstad at a Nicollet County BPOU Meeting where they discussed topics such as tax relief and rural community concerns.

"Congressman Finstad and I discussed the challenges facing our families, farmers, and small businesses—from the need for tax relief to protecting our rural way of life," she stated.

Schwartz concluded by encouraging constituents' input: "I always want to hear from you! Your thoughts, concerns, and ideas help guide the work I do for our district... It’s an honor to represent District 18A, and I look forward to continuing our work together to make Minnesota a better place for everyone."
