Over the past few weeks, Minnesota State Representative Erica Schwartz has been engaging with constituents in her district through various community events and legislative activities.

Schwartz recently attended North Mankato Fun Days with her family, where she met many local residents. She expressed appreciation for these opportunities to connect with community members and emphasized the importance of staying grounded through direct interaction.

This weekend, Schwartz plans to participate in the Eagle Lake Parade alongside the Blue Earth County Republicans. She invited area residents to join the event and highlighted how such gatherings help maintain close ties between elected officials and their communities.

Schwartz also took part in a panel at the Greater Mankato Growth Post-Session Legislative Forum, held at South Central College. The panel included House DFL colleagues, Representative Paul Torkelson, Senator Rich Draheim, and was moderated by Andy Wilke. Discussions covered legislative outcomes from the 2025 session and their impact on the regional economy. "With an audience full of passionate business and community leaders from the Greater Mankato region, we tackled big questions about the session's outcomes, the impact of legislation on our local economy, and where we go from here. The conversation was lively, respectful, and packed with insights from both sides of the aisle—proof that good policy discussions don’t have to be partisan," Schwartz said. She thanked Greater Mankato Growth for organizing the forum.

Significant funding has been secured for projects in Schwartz’s district: $3 million for South Central College and another $3 million for a new affordable housing project in St. Peter. These investments are intended to support students and families locally by expanding educational resources and increasing access to stable housing.

Schwartz noted that Nicollet’s mayor is considering a similar affordable housing initiative. She plans to meet with him soon to discuss potential developments in other communities within her region.

She encouraged constituents to share their concerns and ideas: "As always, I want to hear from YOU. Your voice truly makes a difference in shaping our priorities at the Capitol. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and share what matters most to you and your family. Together, we’re making real progress—and I couldn’t be prouder to serve you."
