Cost of college went up for all students at Bethany Lutheran College

Tuition and fees rose 3.5 percent for 2018-19 at Bethany Lutheran College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Minnesota students paid $27,780 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $950 more than the $26,830 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 135 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.6 million and 95 students took out student loans totaling more than $789,323.

Including all undergraduates (739), 545 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.6 million, and 380 students took out $2.3 million in federal student loans.
